Bolero is an American style Rhythm dance of Carribbean origin. It is a spot dance, not moving along the line of dance. Musically, Bolero is danced to very slow, lyrical Rumbas at 24-26 measures a minute. While it may be danced using latin hip motion, it is more commonly characterized by a dance hold similar to the Smooth dances, using body contact, and should include some rise and fall.
